The relationship between people and the food they consume has grown increasingly tenuous.garden-from-wendy

Realities such as changing environments and urbanization are diminishing people’s connection to food. Growing your own food IMG_5285can help reengage communities and increase understanding around where food comes from. Working through schools to target students with nutritious food programming, including growing food in school gardens, is one way to ensure the development of a generation of informed youth with a strengthened connection to their food. What better way to reconnect than through the future!

Visit the videos section to find out how students are reconnecting with the growing process through school gardening programs, and explore resources for more information on existing programs across Canada and how you can initiate your own student program.
